I know we’ve all done it.  We’ve all been so tired that we have fallen asleep with our makeup on. But it is not ok! If you are still looking for a few more resolutions for 2013, add this to your list.

Washing your face removes dirt, oil, makeup, sunscreen and dead skin cells to leave skin clean and refreshed. Throughout the day your skin produces oil which will get trapped in your pores if you don’t wash your face at night.  That can result in clogged pores which can lead to break outs. It can also lead to rashes or irritated skin and make your skin feel rough and even.

Your skin repairs itself at night and it must be clean to do so. You also can’t forget that moisturizer! Always apply your clinical products after you wash your face.

I can always tell the next morning that I SHOULD have washed my face the night before.  No matter what I do in the morning, it doesn’t feel as good as it does when I wash it the night before.

Some great cleanser recommendations:

–Oily or acne-prone skin:

Try treatment cleansers that contain ingredients such as hydroxyl acids or benzoyl peroxide, we like CS&L Dual Action Cleanser and Skin Ceuticals Simply Clean.

–Sensitive skin:

Use a cream cleanser, like Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser or Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser or CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.

–All skin:

Foaming cleansers are great for all skin types, like Elta Foaming Facial Cleanser or CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser.
